show Abstracthide AbstractTo compare the genetic heterogeneity of Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) within and between individuals of health people, atopic dermatitis (AD) patients, and acne patients, we randomly selected, isolated, and purified 10–20 colonies per skin sites with colony morphology consistent with C. acnes under anaerobic conditions. We designed 4 representative sampling sites of 11 healthy individuals, including oily skin site (face), dry skin site (forearm, AM), moist skin site (antecubital fossa, AF), and special skin site (foot sole). The areas surrounding the lesions on the face, AM, and AF of 10 moderate-to-severe AD patients were sampled. We also collected samples from the areas around lesions on the face, and two non-lesion sites (AM and AF) of 11 moderate acne patients. Total genome DNA were purified from the bacteria and subjected for whole-genome sequencing.
